The StarLost Reboot

The Starlost

A dying world. A generation ship. A forgotten purpose.

Concept rendering of the Ark — humanity’s last refuge.

Back in 1973, a Canadian TV series called The Starlost aired for a single season. It was based on an originalconcept by Harlan Ellison, and on paper it had everything going for it — a massive generational ship called “The Ark,” hundreds of domes, each with its own culture, drifting through space after a disaster. But thanks to budget cuts, dated effects, and scripts that never lived up to the premise, it’s mostly remembered for what it could have been.

I saw it when I was 11 years old, and despite all its flaws, the idea stuck with me for more than fifty years. The concept still has incredible potential — a chance to explore isolation, culture, survival, and humanity’s future — all inside one ship. With today’s technology, writing, and production values, The Starlost could finally become the story it always deserved to be.

This site is my small, possibly Quixotic attempt to get someone in the industry to notice and bring The Starlost back to life. Here you’ll find my pitch materials, concept ideas, artwork (all AI generated as I lack even a hint of artistic ability) and whatever I can pull together to keep the dream alive. If you’re a fan, a creator, or just curious, I hope you’ll join me in imagining what this could be.
